Tuesday, July 1, 2025 3:41PM CDT With the vice president breaking a tie Tuesday, the U.S. Senate voted to pass President Donald Trump's tax-and-spending bill. The bill makes permanent some of President Trump's 2017 tax cuts and extends others in the process. The bill also makes deep cuts to social programs such as Medicaid and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).

After dispersing over 100 million sterile flies weekly since the May closure, officials will implement a risk-based approach with increased surveillance as Mexico begins renovating its sterile fly facility.

September corn is down 6 cents and August soybeans are down 8 cents. September KC wheat is down 3 cents, September Chicago wheat is down 1/4 cents, and September MIAX Minneapolis wheat is down 3 1/4 cents.
Live cattle closed moderately higher in nearby contracts Monday, while deferred contracts showed strong gains along with feeder cattle. Traders seemed confident to buy back into the market after it corrected from being overbought. Hog futures took it on the chin with the greatest pressure exhibited on the nearby contracts.
