DTN COMMENTS: A live deal has been reported in Western Nebraska at $228,
this morning following another round of light business yesterday. Asking
prices for cattle left on showlists are around $221-plus in the South,
and $356-plus in the North. So far this week, Northern dressed deals have
been marked at mostly $355, $6 higher than last week's weighted average,
basis Nebraska, a Regional paid as much as $360 for some cattle set for
delayed delivery (the week of May 26th). The South had live sales marked
at $218 to $221, mostly $219 to $220, $1 to $2 higher than last week's
weighted averages.
NOTE: The USDA Daily Direct Slaughter Cattle Summary Reports are not
available as of yet, we will get that information out to you as soon as
it is made available to us.
Beef cutouts are lower at midday (choice 346.53 -1.36, select 332.52 -
0.68) with light to moderate box movement (54.93 lds of choice cuts, 7.62
lds of select cuts, 0.00 lds of trim, and 12.20 lds of ground). Live
cattle futures near the top of the noon hour are mostly modestly lower,
while feeder issues are mostly sharply lower.

state. All live sales are FOB and set for 1-9-day delivery. A weekly
summary from this data will be posted on the Weekly Cattle Sales Reported

purposes.
