NEGOTIATED PURCHASES SUMMARIES BELOW

DTN COMMENT:   Formula totals for last week were lower in the three major 
feeding states: KS 75,354(-7,324), NE 49,208(-6,352), TX 76,788(-7,924). 
Total trade volume was mixed, higher in Nebraska, but lower in Kansas and 
Texas:  KS 86,249(-1,872), NE 79,286(+5,222), TX 79,804(-9,481). New 
showlists appear to be mixed, higher in Nebraska/Colorado, but lower in 
Kansas and Texas. Bids and asking prices have yet to be established, and 
significant trade volume will likely be delayed until the second half of 
the week.

Beef cutouts are higher at midday (Choice 312.81 +1.59, Select 290.45 
+1.73), with very light box movement (19.23 lds of choice cuts, 5.99 lds 
of select cuts, 0.00 lds of trim, and 7.22 lds of ground). Cattle futures 
near the top of the noon hour are mixed, mostly higher on both live and 
feeder contracts. The lone exceptions are the October spot month, which is 
modestly lower on both issues.
