DTN COMMENTS:  So far today, just a handful of dressed steers have been 
reported sold in Eastern Nebraska to a Regional this morning at $386, and 
a few live deals this afternoon have been sold at $246, but it certainly 
has not been enough trade to establish a truly accurate trend for the 
week. Some asking prices in Nebraska are being noted around $388. 
Significant trade volume will likely be delayed until Thursday and/or 
Friday. 

Today's slaughter totaled 111,000 head, 2,000 more than last week, but 
9,000 less than a year ago. Live cattle futures closed mostly moderately 
lower, off 40 to 132, while feeder issues ended the day mixed, mostly 
modestly lower, off 7 to 50, the lone exception was the spot April 
contract that closed 22 higher. Beef cutouts are expected to close mixed 
with light to moderate box movement.
