DTN COMMENTS:  A handful of sales have been reported in parts of Texas at 
midday, fully steady with yesterday's business. A few bids have been 
renewed in parts of Nebraska. Asking prices are around $232-plus in the 
South, and $382-plus in the North. More business will likely take place 
at some point today.

This week Northern dressed transactions have been marked at mostly $380, 
about $1 higher than last week's weighted averages. Southern live deals 
were done at mostly $230, steady to $1 higher than the previous week's 
weighted averages.

Beef cutouts are mixed at midday (choice 374.05 +0.77, select 352.84 -
1.00) with light to moderate box movement (57.80 lds of choice cuts, 
11.86 lds of select cuts, 0.00 lds of trim, and 10.05 lds of ground). 
Cattle futures are sharply lower on both live and feeder contracts near 
the top of the noon hour.
